  How did your interest in cooking begin?

I strongly believe that the kitchen is the heart of the home and the family. Food is nostalgic, memorable and therapeutic. I started to cook when I left home and began making some of my favourite childhood recipes as a way to reconnect with home and as a way to calm my homesickness. I learnt how to cook Levantine dishes for my husband when I got married because he also liked to eat his childhood comfort food. I love food because it brings friends, family and people in general together; it is an important medium to connect people and it is always memorable. My blog is my recipe index of my culinary journey, but it is also my platform to connect with many people from all walks of life from all over the world.

 What are the main influences behind your recipes?

My recipes are a combination of traditional and modern interpretations of Middle Eastern cusine. As a mom of three boys I have an extremely hectic and busy schedule; between work and the kids I am always keen to whip up recipes that are quick, easy and healthy. The main idea is that the recipes need to be accessible and not intimidating. Sometimes I will share recipes that are more technical and time consuming, but they are the kind of recipes I would make over the weekend or for a very special gathering.

How has your style evolved with being a mother of three very active little boys?

When my kids where younger I had a very practical approach to my personal style; I mostly live in jeans and t-shirts. As my kids are getting older I find that I have more time to focus on my style, I like classic looks that are uplifted with an accessory, or a pair of stylish shoes.

 What has been your biggest personal challenge to date?

Post babies I have struggled with my weight, especially after my third child. I am learning to accept my size and embrace styles that compliment my body type.

As a busy working mom I am always excited to find easy solutions to make life easier, and more stylish.
